1. Introduction & Scope

Food Allergy Tracker is a mobile application designed to help users track food intake, log symptoms, and identify potential food sensitivities. The app is owned and operated by Gerald Leckie / Ironball Marketing ("we", "us", or "our").

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use Food Allergy Tracker. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

  • Food logs: foods you record, including names, brands, and ingredients.
  • Symptom logs: symptoms you report, including type and severity.
  • Images: photos of food labels processed via OCR to extract ingredient text. Images are processed in real time and are not stored permanently on our servers.
  • Device information: operating system, app version, and device model for diagnostics.
  • Account information: your email address or Apple ID used to create your account.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide the core tracking and analysis features of the app.
  • Process food label images via Google Cloud Vision for ingredient extraction (OCR).
  • Run AI-powered correlation analysis between your food logs and symptoms via OpenAI.
  • Manage your subscription and trial status via RevenueCat.
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs using anonymized diagnostics.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Supabase — Database and authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in Canada/US. Supabase handles secure authentication and data storage.

OpenAI — AI analysis. Your food and symptom data is sent to the OpenAI API to generate correlation analysis and insights. OpenAI processes this data according to their API data usage policy.

Google Cloud Vision — OCR processing. Images of food labels are sent to the Google Cloud Vision API for text extraction. Images are processed in real time and not retained by Google.

RevenueCat — Subscription management. Purchase and subscription data is managed through RevenueCat to handle trial periods, renewals, and entitlements.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete all of your data at any time from the Settings screen within the app.

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, all food logs, symptom entries, analysis data, and account information are removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.

6. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored in the app.
  • Export your data in CSV format from the Settings screen.
  • Delete all of your personal data and account at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

Food Allergy Tracker is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Medical Data Notice

Health-related data you provide (including food logs and symptom entries) is stored securely and is never sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes. This data is used solely to provide the tracking and analysis features of the app.
